SureGRP Modular Rail Platform Overlay Boards provide an efficient, innovative solution for re-gauging railway platforms, whilst dramatically improving life by over 55 years. Offering many advantages over alternatives (timber, steel, or concrete) such as corrosion resistance, lightweight and design life.
Modular GRP platform boards can be installed on top of existing concrete platforms, fixed to timber platforms and trestle systems, or even on top of existing concrete trestle systems once the concrete decks have been removed.

Product Overview
SureGRP Modular Rail Platform Boards comply with Network Rail specifications to provide an innovative solution for refurbishment or replacement of railway platforms, offering many advantages over traditional platform alternatives such as concrete and timber.
Modular platform boards enable rapid installation by contractors as they can overlay or replace existing damaged platforms, offering a low maintenance, modular-lightweight, corrosion-resistant solution. All surfaces provide a superior underfoot slip-resistant finish, offering industry-leading SRV values. Department for Transport compliant surface mounted tactile paving is incorporated into the GRP platform to ensure there are no tripping hazards for passenger safety.
Modular Platform Boards designed to span up to 3m.

Panels will be supplied complete with (The below sizes would need to be confirmed and altered to your requirements):
Main panel – Black, approved for Rail use.
Tactile – Buff (RAL 1001), set 760mm back from the front edge.
Sightlines – White, 100mm sightline (this can be bullnosed or downturned with a 100mm riser in white)
Sightlines – yellow, 100mm sightline 1250mm from the edge.
This high-quality product comprises our 4mm thickness Suregrp non-slip surface sheet, laid up onto 18mm thickness marine plywood sheet with a quality plywood sheet.
The load-bearing characteristics make it suitable for heavy pedestrian loading when supported on bearers. Fixing of sheets is simply a matter of screwing down.
Boards can be supplied ready drilled at your required centres and countersunk if required.
The plywood sheet comes resin-coated so therefore it is fully sealed if the sheet is predrilled and countersunk the sheet is fully guaranteed, however, if you cutting or drilling into the sheet this will need to be sealed either with a resin or a sealant.
We can manufacture and supply an 18mm marine plywood panel with a Suregrp anti-slip surface finish to one side with the sides and underside of the sheet finished with a resin sealant. The boards would be countersunk and drilled at your required centres with the holes resin coating inside.
Overall finish 24mm thick.
The load-bearing capabilities of the plywood without any anti-slip is 36 Newtons per square millimetre (The product was tested by a bridge company and it took ½ a tonne at point load to break.
